The Remelluri wineries carried out a remodeling of their property that aimed to improve the energy efficiency of the facilities and achieve greater economic savings. For this reason, they decided to renew the district heating system by installing Rauvitherm pre-insulated pipes from Rehau . Specifically, the five generation points that were previously available were changed to a single room with two boilers that distribute heat and hot water throughout the entire property. In this way, the previous 370 kW system, which used C diesel, was changed to a 140 kW system that uses a renewable energy source based on forest biomass in pellet format.
Rehau's Rauvitherm pre-insulated pipes were chosen since they consist of a coating with a ringed tubular sleeve made of high-density polyethylene and are highly resistant to damage derived from construction. Furthermore, they are internally composed of several layers of heat-insulating foam, sealed longitudinally, which provide total tightness in case of damage to the pipe. The inner tube is made of PE-X and has been specifically designed to work at high temperatures. Likewise, this system allows it to be adapted to any need thanks to its complete program of accessories.
A spectacular renovation of the Remelluri wineries that, thanks to Rauvitherm de Rehau, have managed to optimize their district heating installation, reducing energy consumption and achieving significant economic savings of 40%.
