At the conference, attended by architects, interior designers, decorators and companies in the wood sector and its value chain, among others, the PEFC brand was presented as a CSR tool that helps improve the positioning of products in certain markets. which, increasingly, are demanding guarantees of sustainability. Different Spanish companies characterized by their sustainable business models participated in the event.
Ana Belén Noriega, general secretary of PEFC Spain, moderated the event and pointed out that companies in the wood sector, despite the crisis, have not abandoned their commitment to forest sustainability. Likewise, he offered PEFC certification figures in Spain: 1,812,000 hectares of certified forests distributed in 12 autonomous communities, which represents 95% of the certified area in national territory. Noriega also encouraged companies to integrate sustainability into their business models since certified companies stand out in the market compared to others that do not have certifications that guarantee the sustainable origin of their products.
