70% reduction in energy costs thanks to a 500 kW biomass boiler

The German boiler manufacturer Heizomat has installed a 500 kW RHK-AK-504 biomass boiler in a nursing home in Artés (Barcelona), which replaces two diesel boilers of 300 kW and 100 kW. Thanks to the new biomass boiler, the reduction in energy costs is approximately 70%. The nursing home, which renovated the building, has currently doubled its capacity to accept residents.

The silo has a capacity of 90m3 and is loaded by gravity with a regular frequency of 30m3 every 15 days. The boiler works fully automatically, just like the diesel one. This boiler runs on local, unscreened forest chips.

Heizomat, one of the most important manufacturers of biomass boilers in Germany, has recently opened a subsidiary in Spain. Located in Teulada (Alicante), in its facilities you can see everything from the chipping of different types of biomass with the Heizomat chippers to a biomass boiler from the manufacturer itself, which works with chips from pruning remains from the area. This subsidiary also provides support to the different Heizomat distributors in the Spanish territory.
