Veolia inaugurates the Móstoles biomass heat network Ecoenergía

Veolia has inaugurated the installations of the Móstoles Ecoenergía biomass heat network. The project includes the execution of the construction works of the heat network generation plant made up of four kilometers of pipeline and 13 exchange substations.

Likewise, Veolia is responsible for the operation and exploitation of the plant, as well as the energy supply to the Communities, which includes intervention work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Móstoles Ecoenergía biomass heat network prevents the emission of 9,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere and reduces energy costs by 15%. In this way, the Móstoles Ecoenergía project reduces its cost of hot water and heating with the same comfort while using biomass forest chips from the cleaning of Spanish forests, supplied by the company Enerbosque.

This is the first 100% private project in Spain with a public alliance with the Móstoles City Council. It has been developed by the company Móstoles Ecoenergía, today owned by its promoter partners, the SCEEF I Fund managed by SUMA Capital and Veolia. This is the first Phase since, in the summer of 2018, the investment is expected to increase to 12 million euros to provide service to 4,000 more homes in Phase II.

Finally, the Móstoles Ecoenergía heat network is connected to the Hubgrade, Veolia's energy management center, which carries out telematic control of the facilities. This innovative energy management solution allows you to operate remotely at the facilities and in real time. The combination of
cutting-edge technological solutions with the knowledge of the best professionals guarantees maximum network performance.
