ENplus, the quality seal for domestic pellets, reaches 1,000 certified companies worldwide in June 2020. The seal strengthens its leadership in the high-quality wood pellet sector worldwide by certifying more of 1,000 companies since June 2020. In just a decade, ENplus has managed to corner the market with its certification scheme.
Today, ENplus includes 526 pellet producers, 471 distributors and 3 service providers in 46 countries. The total production of certified pellets exceeds 12 million tons, which represents about 77% of the European heating market, according to estimates from the “Pellet Report 2020” report by Bioenergy Europe.
In 2019, the largest producer of ENplus® certified pellets was still Germany, with more than 2.7 million tons. Austria took second place again, followed by Russia, France and Poland. All countries in the top 5 have increased their production compared to the previous year. In Spain, 585,000 certified tons were reached in 2019, which represents 82% of the total pellet produced in the country.
