Between June and July 2020, six new companies joined ESWET ( European Suppliers of Waste to Energy Technology), the trade association representing waste-to-energy technology providers. Today, the Brussels-based association has 26 members, including the main global players in the energy-from-waste sector.
The new members of ESWET are AC Boilers, Clyde Bergemann Power Group, Loibl Förderanlagen, Mitsubishi Power Europe, Sumitomo SHI FW and Valmet.
Five of these companies come from long-standing membership of another EU trade association: Energy Technologies Europe, which covers the broader area of energy conversion technologies. Having shared an increasing number of topics and activities in recent years, discussions developed between the two associations on how to increase their efficiency at EU level. Finally, it was decided to join forces within the ESWET label.
This strategic measure will trigger more intense activity on various topics related to waste-to-energy, paying special attention to the latest innovations developed by the sector. In addition, it will allow the association and its members to make a more relevant contribution to European climate neutrality plans and the role of European industry in the years to come.
The new members come from different European countries: AC Boilers is established in Italy; Clyde Bergemann Power Group, Loibl Förderanlagen and Mitsubishi Power Europe are based in Germany; Sumitomo Shi FW and Valmet headquarters are in Finland. The expertise and innovation they bring to the association are important assets to further intensify ESWET promotional activities.
“We are very pleased to see the partnership prospering at such a positive pace, reflecting the important role of Waste-to-Energy in the European waste management framework. A technology that has proven to be an essential feature for the sustainable treatment of non-recyclable waste,” commented Siegfried Scholz, President of ESWET.
“By joining our forces we hope to achieve a greater impact in the generation of sustainable thermal energy on the path to climate neutrality.” “We are very pleased that this growth opportunity has been taken advantage of by the members of Energy Technologies Europe,” added Martin Pogoreutz, President of Energy Technologies Europe
ESWET – European Waste to Energy Technology Providers currently has 26 members, with 20 full members and 6 associate members, from 9 European countries, bringing together the main players in the waste-to-energy manufacturing sector.
