Production of briquettes from a wide variety of waste

In any production process, it is increasingly common to consider the value of materials that until now were considered waste. In this way, instead of being considered a nuisance to be eliminated, waste acquires value, as it can be used as raw material or to generate energy.

Sinducor has introduced machines to the market to produce briquettes from a wide variety of waste. The main qualities of these machines are simplicity, small dimensions and ease of use. Thanks to these characteristics, they are perfect machines for using waste wherever it is produced. The machine incorporates a tank for the material, a cooling system and works automatically. It only requires electrical power.

The materials that can be processed are very diverse and include shavings, sawdust, small chips, straw, grain, cereal husks, paper, cardboard, etc., and also non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper and brass. The materials to be treated must not have more than 20% humidity nor exceed 25mm in dimension.

The product obtained is compact and stable briquettes with a diameter between 50 and 80mm. The pressing is done exclusively by hydraulic pressure without the need to add binders.

The recovery of waste is achieved in two ways. On the one hand, a significant volume reduction is achieved, which can reach 90%, and on the other hand, an energy-efficient product is obtained that improves combustion characteristics compared to the unagglomerated material. Additional benefits include reduced storage and transportation costs, cleaner and easier handling, reduced dust emissions and increased safety.

The briquettes obtained have a calorific value that depends on the raw material used. As an example, for typical sawdust waste from a sawmill, briquettes are obtained that have a calorific value per kilo equivalent to 500ml of diesel fuel.

The range of briquetting machines is very wide and includes from very compact and small models that produce thirty kilos per hour to models that exceed five hundred tons per hour. These machines are complemented with crushers that allow the material to be conditioned if it does not have the appropriate dimensions.
