Enerbosque Extremadura changes its name to Veolia Biomasa Spain

Enerbosque Extremadura, a company dedicated to the production, purchase and marketing of biomass, has changed its name to Veolia Biomasa España. The company, which belongs entirely to the Veolia Group , was born in 2010 with the aim of working with a clean and environmentally sustainable fuel such as biomass. This name change arises from the need to more accurately capture the reality of the scope of the company's activities.

Veolia is the world reference in the optimized management of resources: energy, water and waste. With its three complementary activities, it contributes to the development of cities and industries and the promotion of the circular economy. In several of its contracts, Veolia is committed to the use of biomass, since it is an economical and environmentally friendly source of renewable energy because it reduces CO 2 emitted into the atmosphere. In this sense, thanks to its experience and specialization, Veolia Biomasa Spain is the appropriate vector to channel the management of biomass in Veolia in a unified way, as well as the use of materials for subsequent reuse.

Heat network in Móstoles
One of Veolia's main biomass heat networks is Móstoles Ecoenergía, a plant located south of Madrid that supplies heating and domestic hot water to 2,500 homes in Móstoles. This heat network reduces the energy cost of the residents it serves by 15% and avoids the emission of 9,000 tons of CO 2. Veolia Biomasa España produces and supplies the plant with fuel from forest chips that come from the cleaning of Spanish forests. Veolia also manages the biomass heating and cooling network of Ecoenergies Barcelona, which supplies thermal energy to residential, industrial and tertiary sector clients in Barcelona and l'Hospitalet de Llobregat. This network, which integrates solutions 3.7 times more efficient than conventional ones, allows a saving of 1% of the electricity consumption of the city of Barcelona and reduces its carbon footprint, since it avoids the emission of 13,400 tons of CO emissions 2 every year.
