Prodesa has recently signed a contract with a large holding company operating in Canada and the USA. This project has begun with an initial phase of detailed engineering development (process and pelletizing line) for a new pellet plant, followed by the supply of new equipment in a second phase. The plant, located in Canada, will produce 185,000 tons per year, using wood chips, shavings, and bark as raw materials. The project will relocate the production lines from an existing factory to new facilities. The determining factor that led this holding company to contract Prodesa was the company's extensive experience in engineering projects.

The company's second project in Canada will be developed at the Skeena sawmill, whose forestry operations are located in British Columbia. The sawmill has an annual production capacity of approximately 200 million board feet (471,947 m³) .

Skeena, one of the largest sawmills in British Columbia, has begun construction on a new pellet plant and has selected Prodesa for the design, manufacture, and supply of a complete, high-capacity pellet plant.
The plant will have a total capacity of 96,000 tons per year, using wood chips and shavings as raw material.

The key factor in the client's decision was undoubtedly the specific design and high performance of the belt dryer under extreme environmental conditions. The chosen system is a low-temperature belt dryer with a production capacity of 12 tons/hour. It uses hot air at 230°F (110°C) from two natural gas burners (2 x 5.5 MW) for the drying process.

The main benefits of this dryer are low energy consumption, low-level emissions, low-temperature energy use, and automated operation with gentle drying for optimal product quality.
