New portable solution for cleaning ducts and chimneys

TMSABANZA, a company from La Rioja specializing in the manufacture of modular metal chimneys, launches Chimcleaner by Sabanza, a novel portable comprehensive system for the professional mechanical cleaning of flues and chimneys for smoke evacuation.

The system was presented in Valladolid simultaneously with the Expobiomasa fair, arousing great interest.

TM Sabanza's R&D department has developed a solution that extends the lifespan of modular chimneys. In recent years, with the onset of the economic crisis in Spain, chimney sweeping, cleaning, and maintenance have been neglected. This situation has led to non-compliance with UNE standard 123001.2012, specifically section 12, which mandates a minimum annual cleaning (or more frequently, depending on the appliance's usage and the type of fuel used, especially important for pellet and biomass heating) for this type of flue.

This lack of maintenance causes the accumulation of soot and creosote, resulting in poorer combustion and therefore a loss of efficiency due to increased fuel consumption of the installations, an increase in emissions of solid particles into the ambient air, bad odors in the home, and an increased risk of fire in the home.

To facilitate and simplify these maintenance tasks, Sabanza has developed Chimcleaner, a powerful and quiet portable mechanical brushing unit that can be operated by a single person from the base of the chimney, eliminating the need to climb onto the roof. It allows for clean, convenient, and safe chimney sweeping and maintenance. And with its optional video inspection system, the condition of the chimney can be verified before and after sweeping and maintenance.
