Relevant news 2016. Savings of 50,000 eurfor a community thanks to a biomass-fueled heating network

After 5 months of operation, an 800 kW biomass-fueled heating network, installed to provide hot water and heating to 400 apartments in Poitiers (France), in which Satis Energías Renovables has carried out the budgeting, control and direction of work, has saved users €50,000, double what was expected compared to the diesel they used previously.

The installed boiler is the D'Alessandro Termomeccanica CSA 800 GM model, with a capacity of 800 kW and a movable grate. The boiler with a movable grate was chosen to allow the use of any type of biomass, from pellets to wood chips with 50% moisture content, and to ensure efficiencies exceeding 90%. 

To reduce particle emissions into the atmosphere, a ceramic bag filter with a forced draft fan was installed. 

The fuel is stored in a new underground silo built on the site of the former diesel tank. It has a capacity of 225 m³ and is equipped with a movable floor and a conveyor belt for transporting it to the boiler.

Creatio Energy Systems , a company specializing in monitoring and energy efficiency, is in charge of the complete remote management of the room: biomass boiler, diesel backup boilers, feeding and storage system and filtration system.
