Fifteen Mexican entities (14 companies plus the Mexican Petroleum Institute) and 21 executives or shareholders from SMEs and large companies across eight states have registered for this business round, representing diverse sectors. These include a major construction company, a large food company (Mexico's third-largest snack brand), biofuel producers, engineering firms seeking know-how, and pellet and machinery producers and distributors interested in representing eurfirms. Additionally, there are timber and panel industries with sustainable origin certifications, aiming to add greater value and utilize forests.

During their participation in Expobiomasa, the Mexican delegation will visit companies and facilities in Castilla y León that already use biomass as an energy source, in order to collaborate on the development of similar projects in Mexico.

Business Opportunity:
The current geopolitical context is favorable for Mexican and Spanish businesses to collaborate on the implementation of biomass-related technologies, which have great development potential in Mexico. The policies promoted by Donald Trump during his presidency of the United States, Mexico's main trading partner, represent an opportunity to further strengthen the already excellent trade relations between Spain and Mexico. Furthermore, the Mexican government has included among its objectives for 2024 that 35% of energy production be renewable. This goal opens doors for Spanish technology, which is highly valued in Mexico.

Expobiomasa 2017 Figures:
Expobiomasa, celebrating its eleventh edition this year, is one of the five leading trade fairs in the sector worldwide. According to AVEBIOM estimates, from September 26 to 29, Valladolid is expected to receive over 18,000 professionals interested in purchasing equipment, products, and services, around 40 associations and partners, professionals from more than 60 media outlets in Eur , Latin America, and North America, as well as over 600 exhibiting companies from 30 countries, dedicated to the manufacture of forestry machinery, solid biofuel and pellet industries, manufacturers, distributors and installers of air conditioning systems, engineering firms, the auxiliary industry, energy service companies, and investment groups.

The economic impact of Expobiomasa 2017 in Castile and León is estimated to be almost four million eur. Of this, 70% corresponds to service companies (equipment rentals and trade fair services, stand construction, hiring of hostesses, operators, etc.), 25% to hotels and restaurants, and the remaining 5% to transportation.
