The largest EurOPA already works in full performance with a steam boiler

Sugimat has designed, manufactured and supplied for San Miguel Arcángel, the largest happiness in Eur OPA, a key installation in Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén) formed, between other elements, by grocery steam boiler for the combustion of Orujillo . This biomass boiler, with a production of 15 tn/h of industrial steam and an equivalent thermal power of 11 MW, has a design of the German firm Erk, of which Sugimat has the single license in Spain.

San Miguel Arcángel, the biggest pomace producing factory in EurOPA, has trusted Sugimat to develop its plant in Villanueva del Archbishop (Jaén), who has designed, manufactured and installed a key wrench to a hand boiler of acuotubular steam for biomass combustion, specifically Orujillo. This biomass, derived from the oil extraction process from the olive, is characterized by its high calorific power. 

However, this waste also presents a problem related to its ash content and its low melting point, therefore, a specific design of a multi-stage water-tube industrial steam boiler has been carried out to counteract the effect of fouling on the heat exchange body .

The boiler, with a steam production of 15 Tn/h and an equivalent thermal power of 11 MW , has the Eckrohrkessel type design, from the prominent German company in boiler engineering and technology ERK. Sugimat is the company's only licensee in Spain.

This boiler, with an operating guarantee of 8,000 hours per year, has replaced the previous equipment and saves significant current diesel consumption, since it uses the by-product of the plant itself, the pomace, as fuel for the generation of process steam. , turning the facility into a circular economy success story.

In addition to the boiler, Sugimat has supplied the combustion system with a mobile grate, the company's own technology, the control system and smoke treatment to guarantee the quality of emissions into the atmosphere, as established by RD 1042/ 2017.
