Adapting models to Ecodesign, the main trend in domestic biomass equipment

Technology, design, price, and comfort eur customers of domestic heating equipment with a power output of less than 50kW. The main trend among manufacturers is the adaptation of models to Ecodesign principles. The most relevant companies in the sector will showcase their latest innovations in these types of solutions at the Expobiomasa 2021 trade fair, which takes place from September 21 to 23 in Valladolid. The event already has 160 companies from 29 countries confirmed as exhibitors.

In Eur , there are approximately one million domestic biomass boilers , with around 82,000 units sold annually. Germany, with over 265,000 biomass boilers in operation, and Italy, with 115,000, lead the sales ranking with 15,000 units each. Austria, with 125,000 boilers, has the best ratio per capita, with one boiler for every 70 Austrians. In 2018, Spain had 18,000 pellet boilers for domestic use , and 2,400 units were sold that year, a 7.1% increase over the previous year.

The latest available European data eur that there are more than 4.6 million pellet stoves in operation and that annual sales exceed 570,000 units. The positive sales trend in Mediterranean countries is particularly noteworthy. Italy has 2.6 million stoves in operation and leads the sales ranking with 180,000 units. France follows, having had 740,000 pellet stoves in operation at the end of 2017, with sales growing by 35% to 144,000 units. In 2017, Spain had 220,000 operational pellet stoves, one for every 1,145 Spaniards. A year later, the estimated number of operational stoves in Spain was almost 270,000 , and sales had increased by 19%.
