Inypsa has been in charge of carrying out the installation work at the LC PAPER 1881 premises of a Binder RRK biomass boiler from Austria, which will provide industrial steam (4 tons/hour) to the plant's three paper manufacturing lines. This installation represents the largest implementation of Binder industrial steam boilers to date in Spain. In recent months, Inypsa has carried out the work and civil works necessary for its installation and start-up.
The Inypsa boiler for LC PAPER 1881 will produce steam with different biomass derivatives, taking advantage of the forest resources in the area. Apart from using clean energy for the environment, it will provide 10% savings in fuel consumption and reduce CO 2 by 6,800 tons annually. For LC PAPER 1881 this will mean an 83% decrease in its environmental impact.
For Inypsa, which currently operates 12 energy service contracts, this project marked its entry into the industrial sector, a priority area within its strategic plan for energy efficiency activity.
LC PAPER 1881 is a renowned paper company located in Besalú (Girona). In 2009, it began a path of innovation in the manufacture of tissue paper, which has allowed it to obtain a high-quality product with surprisingly low levels of CO 2 . With this new energy system, it takes another step in its commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of its processes.
