Inypsa inaugurates a biomass plant for the production of industrial steam

Inypsa has completed the installation of a Binder RRK biomass boiler from Austria at LC PAPER 1881. This boiler will supply industrial steam (4 tons/hour) to the plant's three paper production lines. This installation represents the largest deployment of Binder boilers for industrial steam in Spain to date. Inypsa has carried out all the necessary civil works and construction for its installation and commissioning over the past few months.

The Inypsa boiler for LC PAPER 1881 will produce steam using various biomass derivatives, utilizing the area's forest resources. Besides using environmentally friendly energy, it will provide a 10% savings in fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions _by 6,800 tons annually. For LC PAPER 1881, this will mean an 83% decrease in its environmental impact.

For Inypsa, which currently operates 12 energy service contracts, this project marked its entry into the industrial sector, a priority area within its strategic plan for energy efficiency activity.

LC PAPER 1881 is a renowned paper company located in Besalú (Girona). In 2009, it embarked on a path of innovation in tissue paper manufacturing, which has allowed it to obtain a high-quality product with surprisingly low CO2 emission levels _. With this new energy system, it takes another step in its commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of its processes.
