With an attendance of 16,540 professional visitors, exceeding the figure of the previous edition, Expobiomasa 2019 has clearly surpassed the forecasts of the organization, which had calculated more moderate figures due to the reduction in the number of days of the fair, from four to three, in relation to that of 2017.

Although the estimated volume of business generated was still unknown at the end of the fair, the first data points to a figure significantly higher than that of 2017, which stood above 17 million eur.

Expobiomasa 2019 brought together 540 exhibiting companies from 30 countries, showcasing the latest technological innovations in the sector, in a total of 28,000 square meters of the Valladolid fairgrounds, making this fair the most important event in the sector in southern Eur.

The best of the twelve fairs held.
Javier Díaz, president of the Spanish Association for the Energy Valorization of Biomass (Avebiom), the organizing entity of Expobiomasa, stated that both he personally and the entire organizing team “are very satisfied with the development and results of Expobiomasa 2019, which has undoubtedly been the best of the twelve editions held so far, due to the quality of the offerings brought by the exhibiting companies, the number of professionals we have received, and the volume of business generated, which far exceeds the figure of the previous edition.”

According to the president of Avebiom, "the sector faces this season with optimism, with relatively high sales expectations.".

This, he added, is due to two main factors. “First, the fact that biomass has gained traction in society as a solution to domestic and industrial heating needs, offering a clean, renewable fuel that utilizes a local raw material that cannot be outsourced and provides a cheaper and more stable price. And second, the volatility of fossil fuel prices, which have skyrocketed again in recent weeks.”.

B2B Meetings
The guest country and protagonist of Expobiomasa 2019 has been Finland, in whose stand around 400 bilateral business meetings have been held between the 26 companies present at the fair, the most cutting-edge in the country, and more than 70 companies and professionals from Spain.

In addition to the II Spanish-Finnish Biomass Seminar — in which the president of Bioenergy Eur, Hannes Tuohiniitty, participated — this edition hosted conferences such as the International Domestic Pellet Market, biomass in Chile, as well as four more of a technical nature on boilers, stoves and fireplaces; the manufacture and production of biofuels; industrial boilers and district heating; and the technological keys for the use of heat with agrobiomass in small power.
