Enerbosque Extremadura, a company dedicated to the production, purchase, and marketing of biomass, has changed its name to Veolia Biomasa España. The company, wholly owned by the Veolia Group , was founded in 2010 with the aim of working with biomass, a clean and environmentally sustainable fuel. This name change reflects the need to more accurately reflect the scope of the company's activities.

Veolia is the global leader in the optimized management of resources: energy, water, and waste. Through its three complementary activities, it contributes to the development of cities and industries and the promotion of the circular economy. In several of its contracts, Veolia prioritizes the use of biomass, as it is an economical and environmentally friendly renewable energy source that reduces CO2 emissions . In this regard, thanks to its experience and specialization, Veolia Biomass Spain is the ideal partner to manage biomass across Veolia in a unified manner, as well as to facilitate the recovery of materials for subsequent reuse.

Móstoles District Heating Network:
One of Veolia's main biomass district heating networks is Móstoles Ecoenergía, a plant located south of Madrid that provides heating and hot water to 2,500 homes in Móstoles. This network reduces energy costs by 15% for the residents it serves and prevents the emission of 9,000 tons of CO2. Veolia Biomass Spain produces and supplies the plant with fuel from wood chips obtained from the clearing of Spanish forests. Veolia also manages the Ecoenergies Barcelona biomass district heating and cooling network, which supplies thermal energy to residential, industrial, and service sector customers in Barcelona and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. This network, which integrates solutions that are 3.7 times more efficient than conventional ones, allows for a 1% saving in the electricity consumption of the city of Barcelona and reduces its carbon footprint, since it avoids the emission of 13,400 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
