
The Enerxétika 2022 contest , which will take place from February 3 to 5 at the Feira Internacional de Galicia ABANCA venue , will once again host the Biomass Forum , which is celebrating its fourth edition with the motto “Biomass, a strategic opportunity for Galicia ”.
This forum is established as an open and participatory mechanism to promote the creation of a biomass industry in Galicia , in line with the objectives of the Smart Specialization Strategy, RIS3, and Europe's objectives of achieving climate neutrality.
The event, which will take place on the first day of the fair, will be presented by Francisco Javier Álvarez Pereiro , president of the Galicia Biomass Cluster. The first of the sessions will address the challenges and initiatives of the biomass sector in Galicia, with those in charge of its analysis being Paula Uría Traba , general director of Energy Planning and Natural Resources of the Xunta de Galicia and José Ignacio Lema Piñeiro , director of the Galician Forestry Industry Agency (XERA).
The forum will then focus on the lines of support planned for the period 2022-27. They will be announced by Francisco Pedro López Martínez , deputy director of coordination of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE), Juan Ignacio R. Fernández-Arroyo , director of the Department of Energy of the Energy Institute of Galicia (INEGA), and Isabel Puentes Berdasco , director from the Forest Promotion and Quality area of XERA.
The last session will show success stories. Regarding the application of a heat network, the one in A Xunqueira (Pontevedra) will be presented by the Department of Culture, Education and University. In the livestock sector, the heat installations in Nudesa farms will be highlighted, in the agricultural sector the same will be done with the air conditioning in Flor San Campio greenhouses and in municipal services the air conditioning in the Caldas de Reis municipal pool will be explained.
