This new network, installed on the La Yutera campus of the University of Valladolid, provides heating and hot water to the campus buildings and has been promoted by the Junta de Castilla y León with an investment of 1.36 million eur , co-financed with eur FEDER funds.
This project is a commitment to sustainability , as it will prevent the emission of approximately 600 tons of CO₂ per year. Furthermore, the fuel used by the new boiler is wood chips, an environmentally friendly and locally sourced material. In addition, this installation represents a 35% cost savings compared to previous operating expenses .
The production facility is located on one side of this university complex. The premises have an area of 258 m2 and have been divided into two levels : one area for the fuel storage silo and the production area, with the BINDER boiler supplied by Termosun.
The installed boiler features moving grate technology, equipped with a multicyclone and an electrofilter , which will minimize emissions.
