Biomass with Hertz boiler for the wine tourism complex El Lagar de Isilla 62c0a07aceadd

According to the newsletter of the Austrian Trade Office in Madrid, the El Lagar de Isilla wine tourism complex, located in the town of La Vid - 18 km from Aranda de Duero - and integrated into the Ribera del Duero DO, has a biomass installation that uses a Herz boiler, Firematic model of 150kW.

The biomass boiler, installed in 2013 and fueled by pellets, supplies domestic hot water and heating/cooling to the various buildings that make up the wine tourism complex: winery, hotel, restaurant, and dome. Roberto Barcenillas (Calor Natural) was in charge of the installation, and according to him, the boiler's annual consumption is between 50 and 60 tons of pellets.

The benefits of biomass in the wine sector are undeniable, and Austrian-made technology in this sector is a reality. In this regard, Herz biomass plants, represented in Spain, Andorra, and Portugal by Termosun Energías, are already present in renowned and important Spanish wine regions such as Catalonia, the Basque Country, La Rioja, and Castile and León.

The El Lagar de Isilla facility is an emblematic project, developed in a complex built on a colonial-style estate dating back to 1890. The winery is integrated into the estate's old buildings and consists of production halls, a barrel room for aging, bottling, a bottle storage room, a dormitory, and a social building with offices, a shop, and two tasting rooms.

The complex also features a 4-star boutique hotel with 22 rooms, all of them different and themed; the Casona de la Vid restaurant and a domed patio.
