PEFC will participate in Expobiomasa 2015 , as a collaborator of this edition that will unite professionals and companies in the solid and pellet biofuels sector, and which will be held from September 22 to 24 in Valladolid.
On Tuesday the 22nd , the 10th International Bioenergy Conference in which Ana Belén Noriega, General Secretary of PEFC Spain will participate in block 3 “Towards a traceable and sustainable biomass supply chain” with her intervention on certification at origin of biomass and the PEFC chain of custody (15:30 – 15:45). Noriega will explain to attendees how PEFC certification is a business opportunity for the biomass sector. Likewise, the Organization will offer information at stand 298b in Pavilion 2, on the PEFC certification of biomass as a guarantee of quality, traceability and sustainable origin.
In this edition PEFC is also a collaborating entity of the “Emprendebiomasa” initiative, promoted by AVEBIOM and organized by Enviroo , which aims to give impetus to entrepreneurs in the biomass sector, especially those with innovative ideas and new business models. On Thursday the 24th, a day will be held in which those ideas selected from all those presented to the call will be presented. Alliance between PEFC and AVEBIOM
In the last edition of Expobiomasa PEFC and AVEBIOM (Spanish Association for Energy Valorization of Biomass) signed a collaboration agreement whose objective was to establish a relationship framework on a national scale to promote the consumption of quality solid biofuels from forest management certified sustainable.
Both entities work together to optimize the certification process, improve effectiveness and reduce costs for ENplus/CdC PEFC certified companies.
In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the number of companies that have opted for ENPlus and PEFC Chain of Custody . Currently, more than 30 companies already have PEFC recognition, located in Andalusia, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Asturias, Navarra, Galicia or Catalonia.
